Purple Spread is an agency dedicated to helping startups successfully launch on crowdfunding platforms through education, training, and consultation. Their campaigns have collectively raised over $1 million and earned features in Forbes, Fast Company, and GQ.

As a co-founder, my primary focus was on educating and training clients on brand, product positioning, and marketing.

Our clients’ campaigns have collectively raised over $1 million across a diverse range of industries, including sneakers, kitchen appliances, toys, and more.

Everyone dreams of having passionate fans knocking down their doors and the media shouting their name from the rooftops. For our clients, we applied a carefully crafted crowdfunding framework designed to maximie their chances of success. This approach has not only driven strong campaign results but also earned them valuable media coverage in top outlets.

With a growing number of teams looking to launch on Kickstarter and limited capacity within our own team, we needed a scalable way to serve more clients. To meet this demand, we distilled our expertise into a clear, actionable crowdfunding framework that educated and empowered clients to take their campaigns to the next level.

Two Day Crash-Course

We offered a two-day intensive bootcamp that guided clients through every critical aspect of crowdfunding. Alongside this, we conducted a comprehensive brand audit, a campaign strategy session, and developed a detailed campaign storyboard—equipping teams with a clear, actionable roadmap. This fast-paced, high-impact session was designed to provide maximum support, even within tight timelines.

Getting Products To The World

Many of our clients came to us with little more than a product in hand, often operating under a “build it and they will come” mindset. This approach left gaps in crucial areas like branding, product positioning, and marketing—key components for success on platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Our focus was to be the launchpad setting them off on the right path through education, training, and consultation.

For example, we worked with Leo Chen, recognised in Forbes 30 Under 30, to help him launch his product via crowdfunding. As with many of our clients, our role focused on educating and consulting his team, while execution remained in-house. The team had great results with the campaign raising $800,000 and exceeding the funding goal by 11x.

Crowdfunding Handbook

Every client received our Purple Handbook, a comprehensive 100+ page manual offering step-by-step guidance on every aspect of running a successful crowdfunding campaign. This beloved resource was highly appreciated by our clients, as it not only breaks down essential crowdfunding concepts but also provides detailed instructions on related areas like lead generation, paid advertising, and more.

Our team embraced the idea of “paying it forward,” committed to helping as many startups as possible. Alongside hosting events designed to empower creators, we developed a variety of free resources—here are a few examples.

“Kaye is genuinely one of the most talented brand marketers that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He has a genius for taking complex marketing problems and refining them into simple and elegant messaging. If I ever have a marketing or design challenge I need to think through, Kaye is still the first call that I make.
